Cross-Border Mergers & Acquisitions Executive Program
Gautam Doshi is the Group Managing Director of Reliance – Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (Reliance – ADAG). He is also on the Board of various other well-known public limited companies.
Prior to taking up his current assignment at Reliance-ADAG, he was with RSM & Company, a well-known firm of Chartered Accountants, as a Senior Partner and has a very wide and extensive experience and expertise in areas covering Mergers and Acquisitions, Income-tax, International Taxation, Transfer Pricing, Accounting and Auditing, Central Excise and allied subjects.
Academic Career
- Passed B.Com. Exam. in 1972 with First Class and was awarded the Lotus Foundation and M. R. D'Souza Scholarship.
- Passed M.Com Exam. in 1974.
- Passed Final C.A. in 1975 and was awarded the U.R.Mazumdar Prize for the best paper in the Company Law.
Work Experience & Professional Excellence
- In public practice from 1975 to 2005.
- Was elected for two consecutive terms to the Central Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India from 1991 to 1997 and was the Chairman of the Board of Studies, Fiscal Laws Committee, etc.
- Was elected for three consecutive terms to the Western India Regional Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in 1976 and was elected to the post of Treasurer in 1977-78 and Chairman in 1982-83.
- Presented papers and led discussions on subjects of Income –Tax, Accounting and Auditing, Central Excise and allied subjects at various Seminars, Conferences and Refresher Courses organized by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Institute of Costs & Works Accountants of India, Institute of Company Secretaries of India, Bombay Chartered Accountants Society, Chamber of Income-Tax Consultants, Forum of Free Enterprise, Bombay Management Association, Institute of Internal Auditors and various other organisations.
- Was the Chairman of the Indirect Taxation Committee of the Indian Merchant Chambers for the years 1999-2000 and 2000-2001.
- Was a part-time Lecturer in Accountancy and Auditing at the S.I.E.S. Institute of Management and at the Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics between 1978 and 1991. Has been visiting faculty at various other collages and institutions.
- Represented India and presented a Paper on "Value Added Tax" at the 5th SAFA Conference on Fiscal and Corporate Innovations in SAARC countries held in Lahore.
Rupak Saha is the tax leader for GE in India. As the country tax leader for more than 10 years, Rupak has worked on a host of direct and indirect tax issues. Given that GE in India has extensive presence in India through most of its industrial and financial services businesses, Rupak has been closely associated with GE’s evolution in India and witness to the country’s continuing tax reforms consequent to the economic liberalization the country undertook since 1991.
In addition to taxes, Rupak is also responsible for regulations related to Foreign Direct Investment and Exchange Control, and plays a key leadership role in GE’s compliance and controllership team in the country.
Rupak is a regular speaker in many of India’s tax conferences organized by leading industry chambers in areas of international tax and transfer pricing.
He is an Indian Chartered Accountant by training and prior to joining GE worked with leading accounting firms within and outside India.
