Build a High-Performance Culture

Successfully set and achieve strategic organizational objectives by diagnosing your current work culture, addressing the three key criteria necessary for a strategic culture, and employing this new culture strategy as an accomplishment tool—inspiring accountability, commitment, higher performance, and excellence at all levels.

Fluidly Navigate Cultural Shifts

Capitalize on culture change opportunities and manage complex culture shifts by skillfully maneuvering across the organizational landscape and its intricacies, identifying and overcoming hurdles unique to culture change in the workplace, and aligning your team with changes in your organization’s strategic direction.

More about this program

High-functioning and strategic business cultures enable greater productivity, sustainability, and, most importantly, company success. Alternatively, a mismanaged and low-functioning culture can undermine the best efforts of well-intentioned leaders and teams.

The high-level ability to create and foster a supercharged culture takes visionary leadership that inspires, motivates, and guides employees to align company values and norms with their work. Changing or developing company culture is no small feat. Still, with the right tools and specialized training provided through the Leading Strategy Executive Through Culture program, it is achievable and well worth the effort.

Enjoy An Engaging Program Experience

In this two-day intensive program, Dr. Jenny Chatman, an award-winning Professor of Management at the Haas School of Business and a leading international expert with clients across top Fortune 500 companies and global medium-sized firms, will guide you through an immersive blend of:

  • dynamic lectures
  • hands-on training
  • a capstone project designed to provide you with practical insights for immediate application

Prework: Hit the Ground Running

Pre-program engagement includes illuminating assessments to help you uncover key insights about your leadership style and your organization or department’s current and desired cultures. These assessments include:

  • The Leadership Style Questionnaire
  • The Organizational Culture Profile

Ideally, please allow 5 weeks from the program start date to coordinate and complete the pre-work required for this program. It is best to engage your colleagues several weeks before the program begins to give them time to complete their part(s). All assessment work must be done prior to the program start as reports based on the assessment data will be distributed during the first session.

Emerge As a More Strategic, Influential, and Culture-Focused Leader

You’ll come away from the program possessing new and valuable insights, and knowing precisely how best to leverage your leadership style and position yourself to lead and drive your organization’s transformation toward a high-performing strategic culture.

Using culture-focused techniques and actionable tools and strategies, you’ll develop a roadmap to execute your vision, motivate and enhance your team’s performance, overcome execution challenges, align decision-making processes with your priorities and company values, and skillfully drive strategic goals and company success.

How much time can I expect to spend on coursework each day?

We know that time away from the office is precious, so we work hard to make our program experiences as productive and valuable as possible. Our programs span full business days starting between 8:30-9:00 a.m. and running through 5 p.m. with lunch served in the classroom and short breaks throughout the day.

Approximately 1-2 hours of evening activities and preparation for the next day are required for some programs. Please download the program guide for more detail.

Our programs are non-degree programs and do not hold any credit unit equivalency, letter grades, pass/fail designation, Continuing Education Units (CEUs), or transcripts. Rather, we provide a certificate of completion at the conclusion of the program.

Can I enroll in a program if I live outside of the U.S.?

Yes. Enrollment is available to global leaders, but visa requirements may apply. Proficiency in written and spoken English at a level that allows full engagement and participation in a program is recommended.

For most international participants, a B1/B2 visa—for participation in scientific, educational, professional, or business conventions, conferences, or seminars—is required for entry into the United States to attend a program with us.

Requesting and receiving a visa takes time and we recommend beginning the process three or four months in advance of the start date of a program.

You can ask your Program Manager to prepare an invitation letter to help with your visa application. It is important to emphasize that the visit is for business purposes.

The Visa Waiver Program is available to citizens or nationals from select countries. Check the Department of State website to determine your eligibility and learn about the waiver process.

The list of countries sanctioned by the Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Asset Control currently includes: Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria and the Ukraine-Crimea Region, plus the addition of Russia for Berkeley Executive Education at this time.
